Steve Punter (full name Stephen Andrew Punter). Steve Punter is a management trainer, professional speaker and employment relations specialist, based in Auckland, New Zealand. He works wherever his clients need him in the NZ-Australia-Pacific Is. region. At any moment he can be writing and running customised training workshops, speaking at a conference, writing and installing HR policies, managing redundancies, handling poor performance issues, or representing an employer in an employment relations dispute. Steve Punter owns 2 companies: STA Training (Staff Training Associates Ltd) which is the training services provider; and The People Effect Ltd which handles all the Human Resources work he does. He also provides and facilitates many of his programmes as 'public' programmes through EMA Learning and the New Zealand Institute of Management.

Serious Interests: Adult Learning, Human Resources, making difficult projects work. Fun Interests: Archaeology (mainly British), music both listening and playing (anything but rap, punk and heavy metal which aren't music anyway), I play 12-string acoustic and keyboard, learning & experimenting with mixing using Cubase and Garage Band. Happy with Apple/Mac but can stoop to PC when I need to. Ex charter-skipper running fishing charters, still love anything to do with boats but can't justify the expense of owning one... and I can't do gardening except weed spraying and mowing. Family: I have 4 wonderful kids, 3 of them all grown and gone and one still at College, and I'm a Grandad which is cool. My partner is a great cook and talks to me sometimes. We have a Golden Retriever, another Golden Retriever who is not ours but lives here a lot, down to 2 guinea pigs at last count, and an antisocial cat.
